Flight Interiors soars to new heights with Pathfinder

Flight Interiors is a business supplying soft furnishings to the aviation industry. We have been doing this for over 25 years and in that time have created and stored thousands of patterns. Previously, these patterns were made from cardboard and stored or achived in a pattern room. When required, we would get them out – as long as they had been filed properly. Then we would trace around the  templates and cut the material by hand.

Six years ago we realised that we could not continue as we were and grow our business. We reseached and investigated various computerised cutting machines. In our opinion Pathfinder came out streets ahead of anything else.

When we are asked about the investment we made and how long it has taken to recover costs, our answer is very simple – ‘we got a return on the machine as soon as we committed to purchasing it as there was no way we could have carried on as we were’.

Training staff was very simple – there is so much the machine can do. Our staff keep the machine like new with daily maintenance and cleaning. Reliability of the machine is such that the only down time we have is annual servicing. Back up service from Pathfinder is excellent. The machine has turned a 4 hour job into 4 minutes.

The most important thing for us is to be able to electronically store patterns and replicate product without any issues.
