CUSTOMER STORY

Some of our guys weren’t computer literate, but the training made the transition a very smooth process.

Operations Manager, Jardan

Jardan increases output capacity by 400%

Jardan started under the guise of an upholstery business in 1987, however after the company went into decline, 10 years later the savvy Garnham brothers, along with their accountant father, took over the business with just a handful of employees. Today they are seen as one of the country’s leaders in high-quality contemporary furniture.

Along the way Jardan invested in a complete suite of Pathfinder products to cover everything from photo digitising leather hides right through to spreading multi-ply layers of foam (M-Series cutter) or handling hides up to 3200mm wide (L-Series cutter).

“We saw the writing on the wall with the influx of Chinese manufacturing and lower costs,” Nick says. “Many businesses decided to go down in their costs, we went the other way and decided to make our products better and more design oriented.” What transpired turned out to be a game-changer for Jardan, and allowed the family to pivot away from selling to retailers and start selling direct to architects designers and the general public.

Pathfinder has enabled a 400% lift in production capacity – allowing the company to venture into international markets.
