Pathfinder doubles production capacity

Argyle has been operating in the schoolwear market for over 30 years. The company supplies direct to primary, intermediate and secondary schools throughout New Zealand.

When Argyle started manufacturing several thousand garments a week, the decision to purchase an automatic cutting solution  became a major issue. After looking at several options, management decided to purchase a Pathfinder cutting machine.

“The impact of buying Pathfinder was positive from day one, as the machine was capable of cutting up to 2,000 units a day, which was about double that we could cut by hand. We were also able to reduce overtime and increase our W.I.P. to comfortable levels” said GM Denis McAtee.

“In the four years we have operated Pathfinder, the only breakdown we have had was when a blade snapped the tip off.
Pathfinder is extremely robust and operates 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. The back up support from the Pathfinder team is great and what is even better, is that we seldom need to call them as the machine is very reliable.”

“Now that Pathfinder has an off load display unit, which can be retro fitted, we are saving thousands of dollars a year in paper markers. It is good to see continuous improvements being made. We are able to train new staff on Pathfinder very quickly as the system is very simple and user friendly.”
